Owning a business on EAD

Please help!! I have EAD for last 3 years thru' my husband. I wish to buy a dental office. Bank is not approving the loan due to my status. Does anyone know if I can own a dental practice while on EAD? or I need to apply for E-2?

You can own property in any status and having an EAD means you can work there too, but banks are not required to provide you with loans. Check if having your husband co-sign will help.

Thanks for the reply. My husband is co signing . Looks like it still didn't help. The bank is recommending E-2 . I do not want to risk losing GC. Any idea how else the loan can be approved??

You can consult an immigration attorney and have them talk with your loan officer. In credit unions and so loan officers are very accessible.

Great suggestion! Thank you again. I don't understand the bank approves loan for a H1 and L1 but not for adjustment of status? I don't get it.
