can i apply EAD and H1B in parallel ?

Hi,

I have L2 visa.I am planning to apply for EAD.But my husband(have L1) is gona apply for extension in another 4 months,so even if i get the EAD after 3 months i may not work for longer.

so can i parallely search for job who will be sponsering H1 while the EAD is in progress ?

Is there any connection between EAD and H1 processing ?Are these mutually exclusive or it can go in parallel ?

It would be great if i get some pointers ?

H1 and EAD both are differnet process,can apply separately

You can apply for EAD now and whenever your find a job, your employer can file H1 for you. Both are unrelated. However at the time of applying for L2 extension if your status has changed to H1, you cannot apply for L2 extension.

When your husband's employer files for his L1 extension and files your L2 extension on your behalf, they should also send EAD application in the same packet.
