J-2 EAD and DS shortening

Hi all,

I have an unusuall situation. I am J2, have EAD for 3 years from now.
Now my spouse needs to get his DS2019 form re-issued because of some university issue.
His new DS will be for one year only instead of three years and will be renewed each year at a time.

I wonder what should I do with the EAD, should I tell USCIS my DS was shortened?
will they make me file again and pay the fee again? what will happen if I do nothing, does USCIS gets updates from SEVIS?

Your EAD will be valid as long as you are on J2 visa, which in turn will be valid as long as your spouse is on J1 visa.

You don't need to do anything for now.
