  • Working abroad when having received the EAD

    An interesting question...

Is it possible when having received the EAD (and AP) within the US to go back to the home country (Denmark) and work (and essentially pay taxes and live there) for some months before moving back to the US? If receiving the Greencard I have some projects in my home country I need to wrap up.

Also I currently have an apartment in the home country which I am subletting. The tax department in the Denmark has a tax treaty with the USA and will not accept I "only" pay US taxes if I still have an apartment in Denmark regardless of it being subletted. I have read that the tax departments can create a problem in regarding to immigration. I am a littly wary giving up my apartment in Denmark (which I also currently earn money on) if I in the end will not receive the Greencard.

And what if I get the Greencard would it be possible to pay taxes in both countries and thereby keep the apartment or not to visit the home country once in a while? Sounds a little stupid I know
