  • Travel outside US on Approved EAD and AP

I am an Indian national, staying in US since last 7.5 yrs on H-1B. My EAD was approved in April and my employer switched my employment status (I-9 form) from H1B to EAD in their records. My EAD and AP are valid till April 2013 and I plan to travel to India by end of May, 2012. I am an IT consultant and just wrapped up my project. My questions are -

    1) What kind of documents I have to carry with me or show at port of entry, while returning back to US
    2) My wife is also working with different employer, what kind of documents she has to carry while returning.
    3) Is there an issue if I am not actively working on client project and hence no recent pay stubs from my employer and no letter from client
    4) What is the process of change of employment after 180 days of EAD approval/pending using AC21 option. How much time legally it takes to change the employment (e.g. H-1B premium processing approval takes around 2-3 weeks after applying)

I apologize for repeated similar posts earlier on forum but appreciate your response to these specific queries.

    Thanks in advance!!
