    Thank you

Thank you for giving info on the Consultants. I have been offered $42,000 by Silvertide. On going through the messages, I have come to know that Consultants often never fulfill their promises when it comes to money. What is the realistic amount that I can expect from this particular company.

    Thanks,
    Sai.

Why Silvertide keeps mum ??? Are they **** ???

Am eagerly awating the reply from some one of the company , so this delay or silence put me to conclude that , What others say / discuss is true and i ve to rethink more times before accepting the offer to join with them . As we friends are in a team to process with them , but this silence from their side , really really worsens our interest on this company .

And the other comments about Silvertide or M A T systems may be true , if still no one opens their mouth ....

        Clarifying your Queries

I am one of the Senior Managers at SilverTide Software and I fortunately happened to see several messages posted and also questions raised that why no one has replied from the Company. As you can understand, this is not a site that each and every employer visits or has to visit. Since I have seen the messages now, I am attempting to clarify your doubts, hope I can be of some help.
First of all one gentleman has mentioned regarding NDA and RRF. NDA stands for Non Disclosure Agreement and RRF stands for Resume Release Form. From this gentleman's message, I can understand he is already in USA and he has approached us for an IT job with one of our Clients. Now as you can understand, we NDA protects the contingent staff who works on a temporary basis for our Clients, from disclosing any or all the confidential information, Data, technology etc. RRF simply helps us to send this gentleman's resume to a Client and since we disclose Client's name, it reserves his candidature to be submitted only through us for a period of six months, which I think is fair and understandable. Please note, RRF is not applicable for our full time H1B staffs.
Now focusing on most of your queries from who are in India, please understand, when there is a document signed by a Senior staff from SilverTide, it is very much binding to the employer, as you are bound. So, when we say, we pay you a Salary of X Dollars per annum, you will be paid each month, regardless of your status (working in a Project or not). Next, we offer a good career path and pay package where you can earn and save more and more each year. And rather then me defending it by myself, the best way to reassure yourself regarding SilverTide or any other US Firms for that matter, is to ask for references of staff who are already in the USA and employed with this the US Company and call them and check with them. When you call the references, you can ask key questions such as:
Did they process the H1B as they promised on time etc?
Is the company a genuine company, as you are employed with them?
Do they pay the salary each month properly and on time?
Do they help you to process your Green Card?
        ...

I am sure a discussion forum will provide you lot of information, as this website has rightly disclaimed "We are not responsible for the content", I feel the best way is to ask for references from the employer and check it out. This will confirm the credibility or lack of credibility of a company. Otherwise you are bound to come across name-calling, mud slinging, not the facts.

For further queries, contact us at 303.873.1281 or E Mail to [email protected]. As there are numerous similar websites out there and as we can not check all of them regularly, please do call us with your questions.

Hope this helps. Thank you for your time.

a similar company offering H1B visa. please help

I have 2.5 years of exp in java and am working in gurgaon currently, i got an offer from Surya Systems, they told me to pay a sum of Rs. 90000 for H1 filing and the thing that surprised me is that they are saying that my H1 visa will be processed frist and then my interviews will be conducted and the main interview will be held with the client. when i asked them about the risks involved (e.g. in case i am unable to clear the interview), they told me that i will clear the interviews for sure and that is their head ache that i clear the client interview. in short, if i pay Rs. 90000 then my job is confirmed and this is also confirmed that i will be flying to US for them in Oct.

could you please guide me whether this offer is genuine, because it seems quite weird that without any interview a company can straight away give you an H1 and job assurance, when they don't even know how good i am in my skills. they just had a cpl of phone conversations with me. they just checked on my communication skills and asked about my skill set and work experince in my company. As i a new to this all and am working ion my first company, could you please guide me. looking forward to hear from you. Please also suggest about such offers as i am also interested in long term onsite offers on H1 visa in the US.

              Thanks and Warm Regards.

                Clarification

                Dear Larry / others:

I see that there are several things misrepresented here, such as Pay package, initial support for our staff coming to USA etc. So, I am attempting to clarify as much as I can, on behalf of our firm:

Mutually Agreed Terms: SilverTide Software had in the past has always paid and in the future will pay all of it employees, what is agreed in the contract or offer letter Package. If you have negotiated certain terms during the time you got offer from us, please review and contact us to reconcile the differences. Please note that, we may have negotiated different offer package, based on your Skill, experience etc.

Bench Pay: STS hire H1b1 candidates as a fulltime employee to work in the USA office as specified in the contract. Irrespective of their project status, as soon as they enter into USA and report to our office, we had paid all employees as per the terms in the offer letter package and/or contract.

Initially Support: It is a fact that STS has Guest Houses for the H1b1 employees coming into USA and also has provided Hotel accommodation, salary advance, and loans, physical and moral support for several of our staff as needed.

Pay Structure: As you all may understand, in a forum, we cannot disclose or negotiate any terms with any prospect, past or current employees of the company. Since this is of confidential and competitive in nature we will not discuss and disclose yours or any one else terms in public. But in General, Company pays XX% of the billing to all it employees. XX% is paid in the form of Salary, Bonus and/or optional Benefits, which is a good pay package for any one who relocates to USA for the first time.
Consider the fact that getting paid Rs. XX per annum in India and a complete shift in getting paid USD XX. We all know what this change in Career and Salary means to you in terms of new opportunities, monetary savings in manifold etc.

Above all, the grass always seems greener on the other side. There is nothing called a Perfect Job. We all have issues at workplace, even if you work for the “Top 10 Companies to Work for”, otherwise, why the employee turnover is at 40 – 50% even in those Companies. In a company where several people work, there are always few people who are dissatisfied. My point is, who ever it may be, if we have not honored what is in your offer package, let us discuss it, as this is the only way to solve the issues.

                Facts:

SilverTide Software – Sells Product Licenses for Business Applications such as Helpdesk (CRM), Online Sales & Order Fulfillment, Provides Professional and IT consulting services with clients in USA. Please refer to www.silvertidesoftware.com

MAT Systems India Pvt. Ltd. – Affiliated with SilverTide Software to execute Offshore Projects and Recruiting for SilverTide.

                  Simple tips -

                  Simple tips

I am not representing any company,,,,, these are simple tips, to help our Indians to find a better job.

Add these questions which silvertide senior manager had said .

---Did they process the H1B as they promised on time etc?
---Is the company a genuine company, as you are employed with them?
---Do they pay the salary each month properly and on time?
---Do they help you to process your Green Card?

And some other list of Questions, which a person should ask, before getting an offer letter or after getting an offer letter.

                  1. First ask about the benefits with pay package?

100% Medical , vision , dental and other benefits like traveling cost for each project (flight fare, first week stay with hotel should be taken care by the company) for all the project .

if they say yes, document it ( make a proof , just get a written proof)
If no benefits - reject the offer.

if they say no flight fare will be paid - reject the offer - you will have project for 2 months , 3 months , you wont be able to pay with your salary and they will force you take the project

2 . Do we have to sign any bond? if yes- why?

if you pay for H1b - they should not ask bond, if they say that they we will return you the money after 6 months , you should not sign the bond for 6 months.

If any company asking for a bond they are not going to keep you happy if they pay is less than 70 or 80 k

just imagine, why you have to leave the company if they are keeping you happy ? , so its understood that they are cheating you and make you suffer till the contract period ends.

just imagine if you are paid 42k and you are getting a project at NY, after the tax return and other things you will get pea nuts, for that you can work in India. If you are not able to save more than $1500 a month, you can stay in India, cost of living differ in each state,

if no bond make a proof of it ;-) written statement

ask about federal tax and state tax and check how much salary you are going to get, and ask them how the salary is going to be paid monthly or weekly if weekly you wont get last weeks pay so the monthly salary will get reduce its not monthly it basically hourly.

They wont pay you for holidays if it hourly, think about decemeber and november. you will just get $500 as salary

                  Lets do some basic calculation
For an example if the Tax is 25%
                  $42000
                  Tax 25% $10500
                  -----
                  $31500 / 12 month = $2625 monthly salary

= $ 1968.75 if hourly, 160 hr - 40 hr( last week is not counted they add it to next month and it goes on ) = 120 hrs

                  -----
food $300 min ( food lover and if you dont know to cook $25 a day low fat food, water, drinks etc )
house rent $ 550 ( otherwise you have to share to reduce the cost and you wont have any privacy, if are in a different state , house rent differ)

                  a.) transportation ( if no car $40-$90)
b.) flight charge for each project ( min $150-$500)
                  c.) hotel stay atleast for 3 days in each project ( 135 - 150 )
small term project ,some times you cant lease an appartment and you wont get a room as paying guest, so, you have to stay in a hotel, it cost $50 a day
                  d.) weekly entertainment ( $20 -$40)
e.) cell bill min $39.99 + if it cross peak mins , you have to pay , you dont have incoming free
                  f.) smoking , drink ( if applicable)
g.) calling your parent ( $50 month, if you are married $150 month and also depends on how much you love your wife, reliance india call or aritel india call)

h.) how much you are going to send home , how much you are going to save in US

if married think about the family insurance and family coverage benefits

if you not getting any benefits, then think how much you can save.

You should have a car, when are you going to buy a car. if you come here with this salary. Without car life suck, for each needs you have to depend on others and they will be busy..

3 . will i get bench salary, full or partial amount ?

Nothing called as bench. if they offer you salary. they should pay you full amount if you are in a project or not.
According to US rules LCA, the amount what they have entered, they should pay that amount,or they might force you to sign a timesheet according to company terms and policy ( 1 hr or 2 hr a day) and they will pay you that amount .

4 . Ask the company, about direct client?
If they say yes? ask about the company name and address and the person to be contacted. and try to find the company website and talk to those people. it should be a industry type.

can this company give a list of 20 client. ask them what they have done for company, if the company is more than 5 years old they should have atleast more than 40 clients, because they have to survive, otherwise they are just doing to consulting ( you have to attend interview for each and every project )
If they dont have direct client , u are going to be in the open market. you should know about latest technology to compu in the market

4 . Is my salary going to paid hourly or monthly? If by hourly then you should ask for % which you are going to get.

they will mention a salary in the appointment order finally they will change the terms and condition according to company policy(read the document which they have given u). some company policy changes many time in a year or in a month.

Read ur Appointment order properly, they will confuse you a lot.

                  5. ask about w2 employee who are with the company for more than 2 years.
if none, this is not the company you are looking for
they can cheat you easily by giving the cell number of the person who own's that company or some relations like that.

as the company for w2 return of person

                  6. dont give ur H1 document to your employer after stamping.

                  7. dont do any free work for the company - each hour should be paid

                  8. green card processing will take at least 5 year, if they say that they can get a green card within 2 years , its a lies

3 company mentioned here, looks like they belong to the same group.if they are doing processing at the same place u can try to call and check if the same person answer again to cross check.

I have to sleep. these are small tips, so that u can know how much salary you should get.

                  42k is very less .

                      hi,
i worked for this company in india as well as in united states. they are not so good or bad either. they definately pay you but the rules will be bent if you are not on a project little bit. but, as a whole company policies are concerned, HR / CEO are favorable to people whom they know personally. you may not be able to save lot of money, living is not a problem. if you want to join them, do so, if there are no offers and want to come to america. they dont ask for money for processing H1B. all these stated are facts when i was with the company and happend to me.

unique to this company is "they force you to join whatever project they find irrespective of your liking"
