NRI found job...what ID/form do i need to work?

Hello im a NRI and i just got hired to work at this big IT company in India, baroda...
they said they need some kind of ID or form that says im allowed to work here... all i have rite now is a PAN card.... would this work? if not what would work? ration card? thanks

PAN number is used just for filing the tax return. Unlike social security number in the US that also may include the work authorization, PAN number is not an authorization to work in India.

As you said that you are NRI, I understand that you are of Indian origin. I suggest you apply for either PIO card or OCI card. That includes the work authorization.
