I was recruited by company X in India and I was deputed to US on a non-immigrant visa.
I was asked to sign a bond with no specific time period before I was deputed.Now after 3 years ,the visa got expired and I have switched as a dependant of my spouse
and continued working for the same company based on the work permit I got through dependant visa.
Now I want to resign from the company in US and want to switch to another company.
The company is not allowing me to resign since I have signed a bond that I will come back to India work for certain period before resignation.
I have the following questions.
1. Is the bond I have signed is valid ? It does not specify any time period.
2. Can the company stop me from resigning in US because I am no longer on the visa that company sponsered.
3. What are the legal implications I can face because of the bond in US or in India?
4. Can I ignore the bond and switch to another company after 2 weeks of notice period ?
