Hi. I am a long time naturalized citizen. All of my records were burned by an angry ex-wife. Now I find that I am unable to work because my social security number does not reflect that I am a citizen. It takes 12months approx. to get replacement naturalization certificate. Any ideas on how I can get a temporary work permit or something which would allow me to work? I have a great job, but it is now suspended because I cannot produce a social security card and they will not issue a new card without some of the records that my ex burned!
