I140- and I 130 for my spouse?

Hi,

an US-employer is about to file an employment based pedition for me. I know that I can enter some data concerning my spouse into the I-140 form already. But am I right that I have to submit the I-130 form for my spouse, too? Or is it not necessary, if he's already listed on I-140? I couldn't find any information on this questions so far.
