H1 to green card

Hi ..I am currently on H1 B visa.Now my company want to file green card for me .What is the process and time duration for that.Also i have to visit India in dec or jan so can i do same. Once my company start for my green card and its in applied status can i apply green card for my spouse.Will she be eligible to enter US while is application is also in applied status and will she be able to work once she come to US.
