Name of mother on Birth certificate and name of step mother on passport

I am in the green card process and I have a problem.

My mother's name is on my birth certificate but then due to my mom's death, my father got married again. Now I have my step mother's name on passport. What should I do?

It doesn't seem to me that you have to do anything. You have a passport and you can explain why a stepmother's name is on the passport.

I am in the same situation, please let me know if you changed your passport with mother's name or you let remain with step-mother. Also, since your birth certificate would have your mother's name, were you enquired about step-mother by USCIS?
