Hi,
My current employer is about to apply for my green card. They will apply for an EB-2 with two years of working experience.
My doubt regards the working experience which I am not sure to meet.
My work experience after my master degree and excluding my current employer is:
Research Associate - Full time = 1 year, 4 months
06/01/2010-09/30/2011
Researcher - Full time = 4 months
02/01/2010-05/31/2010
Teaching Assistant from 05/15/2007 to 07/04/2009 --> Total hours: 60
05/15/2007 - 06/12/2007 --> Total hours: 8
09/28/2007 - 10/09/2007 --> Total hours: 18
05/26/2008 - 07/26/2008 --> Total hours: 8
10/28/2008 - 01/31/2008 --> Total hours: 18
03/17/2009 - 07/04/2009 --> Total hours: 8
The doubt is how to count the part-time hours as teaching assistant. Should it be counted as 5 months (10 months and 4 days divided by 2) or should I convert the total number of hours into full time equivalent (and thus will be 1.5 weeks)? What is the rule for both PERM and USCIS (I-140)?
What is the minimum number of years of experience necessary for EB-2 with a master degree? Can my employer apply with a minimum requirement of master + 1 year of working experience?
I just want to make sure that neither the PERM nor the I-140 will be denied.
Many thanks in advance for any feedback.
Best regards
Rossella
