Non-US Work Experience requirement for Processing GC in EB3

Hi,

I was recently informed by my employer about a USCIS DOL requirement which says that the Employee must have 3 years of OUT-Side US Experience to process Green Card in EB3 category.

From what I have read across various websites, i have never come across such a requirement. I could see that for processing GC in EB3, Bachelors Degree+2 years of Experience is sufficient.

Can anyone please tell me if that is a mandatory requirement?

I have an equivalent bachelors degree (B. Tech) in India.
