  • Qualification and Experience required gor GC processing

    Hello,

I have a 3 year Graduation in science and PGDIT from reputed Indian University and Institute. I have a total of 14 years of experience as Technical consultant with all experience letters. I am with an US IT giant's India operation for last 9 years and I am currently in US on H1B visa for them. In my papers I was projected as an equivalent of a US Graduate.

Question is, with my qualification and experience will I be able to start GC processing if I transfer my H1 to a different company. I am getting mixed reactions on this from potential employers so checking if anybody can help.

    Thanks

Your "potential" employers may be right. Typcally US Bachelor's degrees are 4 years. I am not sure 3 yr degree plus some PG course for one year counts as equivalent. But good luck anyway.

      Hello,

      Thanks for your response.

The PGDIT I have is not an one year diploma from a private institute. It was a two year full time Diploma course on Computer Programming and Applications from a "grade one" Indian Institute well known all over the world. Also I can show the 14 years of experience on top of this. Do you believe this is not enough to be treated as US graduation equivalent professional as mentioned in my current H1 petition?

      Thanks
      Krishanu
