Applying for EB2. Job Title confusion! Help!

Hey guys,

My employer is going to apply for EB2 for me, within the next day or two. We've prepared all the documents, but now there is a small confusion about Job Title.
I'm applying for EB2 as Bachelor +5 years of experience.

My position with the current employer is "Software Architect". I was employed as Software Architect 7 months ago.
Before that, for the past 5+ years, I had a Senior Software Engineer title.

I'm working with a lawyer and she is saying that we should apply under Senior Software Engineer.
Personally, I wouldn't like to go with this position, because I'm hired as a Software Architect.
Filing under [Senior] Software Engineer is like a step back in the career.

What do you guys think?

Applying for EB2. Job Title confusion! Help!

I would advise to listen your lawyer. No one cares what title you have (architect vs senior), however there are some important points like your experience in the past five years should be for the same or similar job duties which assumes the similar title. IMHO.
