Green card - how long does it take?

hello, I hope my post finds you well

my current employer is willing to sponsor my green card.
for this reason, I am trying to understand:
- how long the process would take on average
- what are the limitations / requirements, once I have received the green card (e.g., for how long do I need to stay in the US?)

if it helps, I am Italian and currently on an L1-B visa.

brother i dont know much about green card through L1-b visa, but after getting gc you can not live more than 6 months abroad

I don't think that it is completely correct, you can live abroad for more than 6 months, but will need to apply for a reentry permit BEFORE you leave US.
Regarding how long it takes, there are a lot of different issues to consider, including which category are you applying in, are you applying for premium processing etc...
