  • My expected EB3 timeline - is this reasonable?

My firm is starting my GC process and I am drafting out my expected timeline for EB3. Do you guys think the below is reasonable or it is too optimistic? There is no backlog or my country of birth and assuming there is no audit.

Stage 1: PERM (11 months total)
    - Prevailing Wage: 2 months
    - Recruiting: 3 months
    - Perm Filing and Approval: 6 months

    Stage 2 and 3: Filing I140 and I485 concurrently (8-9 months total)
    - I140: 2 months
    - I485: 8 months from filing

With this timeline, I am expecting I should receive my GC within 19-20 months? Do you guys think this is reasonable or too optimistic?

I am going through it; here is the realistic timeline:

Stage 1: PERM (11-14 months total)
    - Prevailing Wage: 2-3 months
    - Recruiting: 3 months
    - Perm Filing and Approval: 6-8 months (at this time)

    Stage 2 and 3: Filing I140 and I485 concurrently (16-20 months total)
    - I140: 4-5 months (at this time but I reduced it through premium process)
    - I485: 12 - 15 months from filing

With this timeline, you should receive GC within 23-29 months? I might be wrong but at this time the cases are severly backlogged.

I started my process by Jan 17 and waiting for interview call. Was told by attorney that it may take six to eight more months. Good luck.

Can you start recruiting while waiting for prevailing wage? My friend told me the prevailing wage for my state is very low so I need not worry.

I don't think you can start the hiring process until you have a bench mark which is prevailiing wage. However, I didn't get your point that "prevailing wage for my state is very low so I need not to worry". Are you saying anything about the hiring process that your state may not have enough candidates with your expertise?

My friend who went through the process with a different firm said the wage for our profession in the state is low so my salary is def higher than the prevailing wage.

Well, I can tell you that your pay versus prevailing wage has nothing to do with immigration process. The thing that matter is other candidates within US that can fill your position. If any suitable candidate appears during hiring process then your company has to offer him the job and restart the hiring process with new requisition number; the entire advertising/hiring process will be reset. Usually, an expert HR articulate the job duties so that it only suits you as the potential candidate.
