Green Card processing outside of US

Hi, i have a valid H1 visa till 2020 & am back to my home country for personal reasons and into the local payrolls already. I dont see a chance of returning to US for atleast one year from now.

My employer is ready to process GC application for me while I am away from US.

can i have my GC application initiated & processed outside of US, i am not getting my US salary for the past 4 months & hence may be out of H1 status.

Yes. GC processing does not need the beneficiary to reside in the US.
