Hi,

Could anyone help me to understand the Green card procedure and how long will it take as I heard there is long backlog for GC. And which category will I be applied (EB????)

Green card process is 3 step. 1st labor certification - It would take around 6 months. 2nd I-140 - approx 4 months. 3rd step I-485 - 8 years if filed under EB3 or 7 years if filed under EB2. You can file for EB3 if you are a qualified professional, EB2 if you are a qualified professional with 5 years work experience.

question on EB-2?

I'm currently working on H1 and I'm having 14 years of education (no masters degree) and 8 years of experience. I'm from Philippines. Can I file for green card in EB-2 category? I read that Filipinos priority date is the current date. So does it mean that I can get my GC faster? within a year?
