Hi,
My husband is applying for employement with the city of NY. He was to start next week and went into the employment office today to finalize everything. The green card he has was issued in the 70's. The clerk said the picture does not look like him, (no kidding) and they would not accept it. She told him to go to 1 Federal Plaza in manhattan, and get a letter.
Does anyone have any idea what she is talking about? I thought you required an appointment and it is a very timely proceedure. Would it help to contact an attorney? He obviously will not be starting his job.
Thanks.
