H1-b to H4 while in I-485 pending

I have to take a personal leave for a couple months. During this period, company will not pay me. My question is if I will get the problem when I have the final interview. Will it be the best solution if I change my H1-B to H4. Any input are appreciated.

Nope - Don't change anything

Do not change anything. A couple of month's personal leave without pay will not cause any problems.

Unless, you do not plan to go back to work at all, then it's a different scenario.

Thanks, but what do you mean "a different scenario"? Could you further clarify?
I will need to be on non-paying personal leave for almost an entire year. Will this be too long?
