Hello everyone, this is my first post, I would just like to ask if anyone has ever been into this kind of situation.
I currently work for a municipal government in Texas, I had mentioned to them that I would like for them to petition me for a greencard.
Their main question is that as part of the LCA, they would have to post recruitment ads on newspapers and on their websites. They didn't was to do this because they said they couldn't post a job when it is not vacant.
( I've been on this job since I used my EAD after college, got an H1-B and then had it renewed, my H1-B will expire in July, 2009. ) Also since my H1-b is expiring in 2009, is it too late for me to work on getting a greencard? Should I just find another employer and get a new H1-B?
Also they did not want to interview all the applicants that would apply for the job. I appreciate any comments or suggestions, they couldn't understand why they have to post the job opening again when I have been on that position, well actually I was promoted already to another position, for quite some time now.
Thanks,
Bing
