  • When USICS issues the Receipt Number

I have a question on the receipt number. If we get the receipt number, does it mean "The application is accepted" (All the supporting documentation and fee are coorect)?

    or

Are there any cases where receipt numbers is issued though the supporting documentation / fee is not correct?

Well, I am on the same process and my understanding is that the "receip" number is just a processing number. It does not mean your application has been approved, but it means you are in the system now and just need to wait. If they think additional documentation is needed, then they will probably contact you.

      Receipt confirmation

This should be a confirmation from USCIS that your application has been accepted after they get your correct check fee amount. But the real processing will only begin after this stage and it can take few months to over a year depending on the individual cases.

      Good Luck!
