I-485 and H4

Hey all,
please help.....i was on my H1B ..applied as a dependent for the I-485 last month on my husbands labour clearance. This month i had to give up my job due to health reasons. Do i have to apply for an H4.....i got different advice from two differnt lawyers.
one says now ur status is ur I-485 application and the H4 is redundant.....the other says i have to apply for H4 ......any help will be appriciated.......

you don't have to apply for COS to H4 but it might be a better safer option as it gives you flexibility in terms of using H4 stamp to reenter instead of waiting for AP
