What is the Priority Date

Could someone please explain which date is the priority number? My priority number for my labor cert is March 05, is that the same through out the entire process or is there a second priority number for the I140 & I485? I have a copy of the filing of my I140 but it is blank in the priority date field.

Priority date is the date Labor was filed with DOL. Your PD is March 2005. Generally, PD remains with you till you get the GC. PD is what you compare against the visa bulletin to see where you stand in the GC line based on your country of birth and EB category.

Thanks, that what I thought but was not 100% sure since it's not listed on any of my paper work.

When you get your I-140 approved, the I-140 approval should show your PD which is the same as the date on Labor.
