GC Process

Hi All,

I work for a university (H1B) and I want to begin my GC process. If i bear the cost for the GC process(hire an Immigration Lawyer).
My question is 2 part:
1. If I avail the NIW option, Do I have to go through the Labor process if yes, does this require the position to be advertised?
2. If I do not avail the NIW option, Do I have to get the university HR involved? why and why not? (I am paying for the entire process) and I have my bosses approval

I think NIW does need a Labor as NIW applicant can file a petition by him or herself. I-140 is the first step.

Consult a good attorney as these are involved procedures.
