  • GC processing once I leave USA

I work for an India based offshoring company. My GC has been applied by my employer and I & my wife (as depandant) have got our EAD and AP approved. My current assignement is getting over and I will be going back to India by end of the month and might not be back for another 6 months-1 Year.

Will it have any impact on my GC processing? If Yes, is there anything I can do?

GC is for future employment and if you are not available for finger prints etc, the AOS can be considered abandoned. Is your employer ready to hire your permanently after your GC? What status will you be returning back on? AP or H1b?

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

My finger printing has been done once in Nov. Can there be more finger printings? I will be returning on AP.

There will be more finger printings. As long as the AP is valid, you can enter. However, AP is for shorter absences and you may get questioned at POE. Talk to an attorney.
