EB2 or EB3 Category For 3 Years Bachelor's Engineering Degree

Hello,

Here is my situation. I did a diploma in engineering after 12th STD, and then did engineering as a lateral entry student( i could finish in 3 years as oppose to 4). I have 9+ yrs of experience in the software industry and my job requires a bachelors degree with min 8 yrs experience.

Can I file under EB2 or EB3?

Would the fact that I finished engineering in 3 years affect it in any way?

The people taking care of the process say that, it has to be one 4 yr degree to file for EB2.

Any thoughts and Suggestions on this would be appreciated.

EB2/EB3 depends on job requirements not your level of education and experience. There are many people "overqualified" for their job.
