Green card application processing while working outside of the US

Hi,

Could you please tell me how it works for this scenario?

My employer is processing my green card and now I have to move out to another country to work for atleast 2 years. What will happen to my GC processing? Will it still be able to process or I will have to come back to US and start the new GC application all over again?

I am also in same situation on h1B visa and got project in other cuntry for 1 year. What if our PD become current before we come back? Also how to maintain status here in USA as well? can we keep H1 or we have to come again through lottery processing?

You have to change the GC from AOS to CP if you intend to move outside the US.
