  • Under L1A, Company going BK. in GC process

I’m on L1A Visa with my company and fill for a GC the I-40 was approved, I'a, in the consular process the approval notice never reach the NVC, the lawyer fill a 1-824, receive by NHIC on march 2008 now they are doing June 2007. My company probably will go BK on the coming months.
What are the option that I have to stay.
Can I continue the process for GC,.
Can I stay on the states the 2 period of L1A that I have go to Feb 2010.
Can I change of job and continue the process.

    Thanks for your help.

First, I think lot of acronyms is no good. Second, you need to learn about the limitations of your visa. For GC, the job must exist. When company goes BK (Burger King?), the job ceases to exist.
    Check out H1 FAQs first!

Why is your entire company going to Burger King? How did you qualify for a L1A? Read more

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

Thanks for the reply, Sorry fot the use of acronyms
So to get a Green Card the job must exist, in the case the company resign the contract, Close or go bankroupcy, there is not any posibilty even if the I - 40 is already aprove, and the I -824 is on proces,?

Bankroupcy is a huge posibility on the actual conditions, we are on the turism bussines, i qualify as Manager /Executive, on operations for the Americas (Caribean / Mexico area), i receive a Notice of Action I-797, approving the I 140, with priority date august 03 2006 on June 1 2007, aparently this notice never reach the NVC to get the consular appointment, the lawyer then, sent a I 824 on 15-march, this case is at Nebraska, acording with the dates posted, will be done on april 2009,
Is any thing that i can do to speed the proces?, at the time the job is lost is there any grace time, or i have to leave the country at the moment, thank you for your time.
