H1 to H4

Iam currently working on H1B visa and my employer has filed for my green card on June 24, 2008 for which I have just received an audit today.

I might have to go on H4 at the beginning of next year which Iam not sure as of now.

If at all I will swich to H4, can my employer continue with my GC process?
