Green Card without Employment

HI,

I wanted to apply for Advanced proffesional EB-1 catagory green card for US immigration. I am employed currently in Europe . I was wondering if its possible to apply for US Green card from Europe . Do we need to show employment in US during application? I have a PhD in Engineering with several international publications

Employment is not required for EB1 application.
