single person to choose over GC thru employment or GC thru marriage to an american

i'm a single lady.. i want apply for GC, and my employer is willing to sponsor but I'm also open to marriage to an american citizen.. I'm just worried that if i start my greencard thru employment and someday marries to a american citizen while my application is in process, can I bridged it? to shorten the waiting time since I'm married. pls help!!

Have you already received and actual marriage proposal and do you intend to marry that person?

If not just start with the GC process though your employer.
