Possibility to get GC (EB3) if applied in March 2010?

I am Indian citizen and working in New York on H1B. My H1B will expire in Oct 2012.

My employer will be *starting* GC processing for me in March 2010 in EB3 category. But after hearing news / rumors about Green Card in EB3 category, I am losing hope to get Green Card.

Here I would like to know if it is still good idea to hope getting GC. Also, what difficulties I might be facing such as wrt H1B expiration.

Why did you or your employer wait so far?

If you want to get green card, only thing you can do is to apply and wait.

I will wait but is it too late now to get GC?

When you apply for GC, you get in the line. You will get GC when your turn comes. Current dates are middle of 2001. And now we are in 2010.
