Can a US company sponsor Green Card for a person living abroad?

Can a US company start the green card process for someone who is currently not in the US. This would be for future employment.

Any good resources on how this process works? Can it be done by any company or does the company need to have some set revenue or profit level?

Yes. Employment-based immigration is about future employment. As long as the company offers to employ the person after they immigrate to the US, the company can petition the person to immigrate. It is not required that the person be in the US or have ever been to the US, and it is not required that the person currently works for the company.
