EB1C Priority Date in 2001

Hi All.
I presume I’ve sort of unique case and need some guidance

I had my GC in the past from 2011 and surrendered it in 2013 since I had to relocate back to my country for extended duration (beyond 2 yrs of rentry permit). This also helped me avoid abandoning my GC.

I returned back to the US is 2018; applied for 140 in sept 2019 in EB1C category. I was able to port my priority date from my prior GC (EB3 cat) and 140 was approved in July 2020 with priority date of April 2001

Now, I applied for 131, 765 and 485 in Aug 2020 and hoped porting of priority date will lend some support to speed up but guess not.

My Qs are
1. does priority date even matter?
2. does my case qualify as outside “normal processing time” and will a senators intervention help?

Can you share your experience or any guidance ?

I think your priority date matters to have a GC available to you in your category and born country.

For your case to be outside normal processing time you need to check the I-485 receipt date, not the priority date. My guess is that if you ask a senator for help the answer will be "case is within normal processing time".
