Questions regarding GC processing

Hi,

Appreciate response to my following questions regarding GC processing.
1.When I checked online the PD for India (EB2) has advanced to May 2006. Does it mean that those who applied for GC before May 2006 have got their GC? Or does it mean that those who filed for their I485 before May 2006 have got their GC?
2. At what stage do I get the EAD card? How long it takes to come?
3. At what stage of my processing am I not advised to travel to India?
4. Say my company files for my PERM in Sep 2010 and my I140 is approved by Aug 2011. Do I file for my I485 in Aug 2011?

1. Means anyone with a PD before that can expect to get their case approved. Doesnt mean they are all done.
2, I-485. Expect EAD in 2-3 months after filing 485/765.
3. You can travel anytime with an approved I131 or AP. Donno where you heard this.
4. You file 485 when visa bulletin says Sep 2010 is current.

Thanks TxH1B for the clarifications.
I have one query. I read in this forum that some people are filing for I485 even when their PD is not current. So once my I140 is approved, can I immediately apply for I485 even if PD is not current? Also in that case will I get the EAD card and AP.

Appreciate some light on this issue.

That is simply not possible for employment based categories unless it is due to a marriage to a USC.
