I was transferred to USA on L1A and employer sponsored my green card. They had me sign an agreement when the green card process started that if I left the company I would have to repay fees and legal costs for the green card process.
Two questions:
1. Is such a contract legal and legally enforceable?
2. I am going to pay the amount, in that case, is there a way to treat this as loss of income or an unreimbursed expense for tax treatment?
