Hi to all,
I recently filed for I-140 and I-485 and 2 weeks after got laid off because my H1B visa expired. My I-140 got recently approved. My employer/sponsor advised that they will continue to support me in the greencard process, but for the time being will not continue employing without a work visa or permit. They did show their intent to hire me back when my greencard gets approved and I can continue working with work permit legally.
What happens if my greencard gets approved and I cannot work for the employer in the application due to reasons outside of my control? Perhaps they dont have the job opening by the time my greencard gets approved. What options do I have to not loose all the process? I am reading more on "Job Portability" and seems I can change employers as long as its similar position.
Cant I just use the EAD card that I will get once the greencard is approved to work for someone else?
