What are your thoughts on EB2 retrogression?

Hi All,
We are seeing that EB2 is flying fast. It is currently at SEP-2014 and moved more than 3 years in one year's time.
It seems like it is going to retrogress some time soon.

However, I have my priority date in 2016 and not filed for Green card with my new employer yet.
Do you see EB2 hitting 2016 in the next 2 - 3 years and need for urgency in my case?

Is hard to predict what will happen to the dates. I only know what I see on the USCIS site, for example here: https://www.uscis.gov/i-485

There are many more visas available in the first (priority workers) and second (workers with advanced degrees or of exceptional ability) employment-based categories than adjustment of status applications pending with USCIS.

If you are eligible, please consider applying in the first or second employment-based preference categories. If you have a pending adjustment of status application based in the third employment-based preference category but also have a pending or approved petition and an available visa in the second employment-based preference category, we strongly encourage you to request that USCIS “transfer the underlying basis” of your pending application to the second employment-based preference category.

Maybe the dates will advance the next few months but also there is a chance that they moved the dates a lot and will not be able to work that fast and retrogress. The only thing I can say is good luck with your case.
