GC EB1 category

Hi,
I have question about GC application with EB1 manager/executive category. What are the requirements to apply in this category. If I am working in USA currently and if my company send me to another country at any managerial post (e.g.project manager) for more than 1 year, can I come back after that an apply in EB1 category?
Currently my company has applied for me in EB2 category with my PD April 2008. Is it advisable to leave country to get advantage of EB1 if it is possible?

There is no reason to leave the country as the qualification for EB1 does not depend upon that.
