Applying Green Card without sponsorship

Dear members,

I'm working at an university as a temporary instructor. My university can support me with H1B, but won't support me with green card because of my title "temporary". Is there any way that with H1B, I can apply for Green Card without sponsorship from an university?

Assume you have a PhD. Talk to an attorney if EB-1 is an option for you. Search EB-1 requirements on immihelp.

The other option is to see if some other employer is willing to hire you and start a GC there.
