will applying for i-912 for my i-90 effect my immigration status?

i was granted 2 year residency based on marriage around november of last year but never received my card in mail. after reporting the undelivered green card to uscis they declared it lost due to postal office insisting it was delivered. since november we have had our first child, throwing us under the poverty line. when we sent in i90 we also sent along the fee waiver for it i-912. no that its gone im starting to regret it. so i be in panic? i sent it in july 24 and still have not heard anything. average wait time is supposedly 3.5 months.
