  • NVC case completed but additional AOS support evidence still required?

Hi all! So I finally received this email:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the
immigrant visa petition: MNLxxxxxxx filed by xxxxxxx on
    behalf of xxxxxxxxx.

We completed our review of the Affidavit of Support form and financial
evidence documents. Our review indicates additional financial evidence
and/or an amended Affidavit of Support form is still required. You have
been sent a separate checklist letter that specifies the missing
documents. You should obtain these documents and send them to the
principal applicant. The principal applicant must provide the missing
items to the U.S. Consular Officer at the time of the visa interview.
Do not send these documents to the NVC, because this may delay your
    case.

The NVC completed its processing of xxxxxxx's visa
    petition.

The petition is waiting for an appointment to be scheduled at the U.S.
Embassy or Consulate in MANILA, PHILIPPINES. When an interview
appointment is scheduled, the petitioner, principal applicant,
designated agent, and attorney of record (if applicable) will be
    notified.

It clearly states that my case is already completed but why is the NVC still asking for the additional evidences that should be brought along with me on my interview? I've checked both my petitioner and my own e-mail but there's no checklist. Does anybody know what kind of documents I need to bring? Is this really 'case complete'? Thank you in advance for replies!

    Basically NVC is saying:

'We received your documents but when we went through your sponsor's financial evidence, we found it unsatisfactory. Because of this we (immigration as a hold) need a fixed/clarified affidavit of support that shows your sponsor has met our standard/is fully qualified to be the primary applicant's sponsor. You can prepare this amended affidavit of support when you have been scheduled for an interview in the future. At that time you and all other parties involved will sent a checklist of what the primary applicant needs to prepare and carry to his/her interview. DO NOT SEND THIS NEW AOS TO NVC BECAUSE YOU WILL DELAY YOUR OWN CASE.'

Hope that explanation answers your questions. What NVC sent you is known as packet 3 and when it's interview time your case will be forwarded to the local US embassy and the parties invoved will be sent packet 4 (interview letter + checklist). The checklist you get will include a request for a medical, the new & improved affidavit of support, police record etc.

It seems everything is going normal however the NVC cannot decide on its own, the consulate will decide during the interview. Anyhow if I may advise I would say go and read the I-864 (Affidavit of Support form Instruction) form Instruction. Also the site www.immihelp.com website has a lot to tell about this matter. wish you all the .best

appointment is scheduled, the petitioner, principal applicant,

        notified.

A letter was previously mailed to the Agent of Choice or Attorney of
Record requesting the amendment of previously submitted travelling
applicant's Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration
form(s) and/or required civil documents that have not been submitted.
The principal applicant must provide the missing items listed on the
letter and/or the amended Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien
Registration form(s) to the U.S. Consular Officer at the time of the
visa interview. Do not send these documents to the NVC as this could
        delay your case.

            help pls.

I filed a petition for my husband and 3 kids on separate ir petitions.it has been approved.I received their packet 3 but has no interview dates. It juss said to get required documents ready and send the notification of readiness once they are ready for their petition. Now we received a reply from the u.s embassy that we could schedule their appts. I'm kind of confused the information on the internet says that nvc will schedule an appt for them. Should I juss schedule them?
And another thing am I suppose to pay the AOS fee? I filed the petition in U.S Embassy Phil.
and another thing if the IV fee can be paid the same day as the interview.? Pls help ...
Been so confused. I want my family to join me here in the u.s. I'm a u.s.citizen. and my kids are all still young..help me out. If u know something
