Hi,
I am new to this forum, but have questions that need to be answered pretty quickly.
I am a Canadian citizen who came to the US on a F-1 Visa; which is not actually a visa, but only marked on my I-94. My I-94 has no expiration date, although my I-20 expired on December 20, 2012. I am getting ready (it's already in envelopes) to send out my I-485 and I-130 based on my marriage with my husband. I am not totally aware of how long the process will take before any action is taken, and I know I will have to go back to Canada in March/April as my mom's health condition is not at its best and my presence will soon be needed for a few weeks.
At this point, I am not even sure if I-131-Advance Parole would be worth it, but I am just wanting to make sure I've got all of my basis covered and I do not do a bad move that jeopardizes everything.
For this reason, I am seeking the opinion of this forum's users in order to clarify what should be done and what should not be done.
Thank you in advance.
