question on residency

I an a naturalised US citizen and have applied for residency for my parents in India. How long does this process usually take?
Secondly I would like them to visit me, would it be possible now that they have a application for green card in process.
Also is it possible that if they do come on a visitors visa, I could apply for a change of status?

Once you have applied for their immigrant visas, they will not be
able to get a visitor visa, which requires non-immigrant intent.

They will have to wait in India till they get their immigrant visa which may
take upto a year.
