I'm on F1 doing PhD with a valid visa for the next 5 years and my sis is about to become a US citizen. Will applying for a green card (I-130) for me in the Family Category 4 adversely affect me? Current run-in period for this category is April 2001. So does that mean it will take 11 years to get the card? Will a concurrent Adjustment of Status petition (I-485) help me stay back after my visa expires or due to some unforeseen event? Thanks.
