Hello all,
I am new to this forum. I finished all the paperwork and my dad got his interview date on 11th march. He did not get his interview letter yet. But I got an email about the interview and I checked the mumbai consulate website and his interview has been scheduled and I saw his BMB no. in the list. Do I have to ask them to send a letter to my dad or just the copy of my email is enough. When I checked with NVC they said a copy is enough.
In the email i received, they asked us to provide the full tax returns of last year along with the IRS generated copy. I got that. They wanted to see my mom's death certificate original. I took a print out from Chennai corporation website and sent it to them twice. But they wanted the original. Luckily i have the original which is in Tamil and I am planning to translate it and get it notarized.
They also asked for my marriage certificate. I submitted the original to them which I got from the registrar office at the time of the registration. But they are not accepting it as original. I am thinking of getting a notary signature for that also.
Other than that, they have all the original documents and I am assuming they got all the paperwork in Mumbai consulate.
My dad need a translator and i was told that the translators will be available at the time of interview. Do we have to fill a form for that?
Please advise me if i have to do anything else. Also if anybody has mumbai consulate number, please forward it here so that I can call and check.
Thanks
Vidhya
