Applying for my half brother, Birth certificate doesn't have any father shown.

I'm a US citizen. I have a half brother that was never recognized by my father on his birth certificate. He was born when my mother and father were separated for a little while. My brother grew up with the mother but without a father. I grew up with my mother and our father after they got back together. My father passed away 5 years ago.

We have always known that we were brother and sister. We have always had a good relationship. There is no doubt that we are related. It's just that the birth certificate doesn't show a father listed for him.

Is there any way to apply for him giving that my father had never recognized him? DNA?
